"Red Wings Tickets - The Hottest Tickets in Town!"
The Stanley Cup finals are upon us. With the victory on the road, Red Wings are up 3-1 in the series against the Penguins. The next game, game 5 is scheduled for 7:30pm, monday evening at Joe Louis Arena. This is also a game where most sports nuts agree, the wings will bring the Stanley Cup back home. This also means, that your game 5 ticket is the hottest ticket in town.
I have gotten my tickets from the local broker in Southfield, MI - Big Time Worldwide. We ordered them on their website before they were even printed, and they filled our order just last week, honoring the price. By preordering we saved a ton of money, as nobody even knew if there was going to be a game 5 or game 7 in Detroit and they guaranteed a refund if the games were not played.
Since then, the prices shot up through the roof. After all, the NHL finals may not return to Detroit soon, or ever! We in Detroit got spoiled by our teams who always seem to be in the playoffs (Lions excluded of course).
If you are one of the lucky ticket holders, you should probably sell them right about now. Really. Triple your money. What usually happens the day of the event, is that market comes crashing down. People who could afford to spend the money have already spent it. So with the money you get from selling your tickets today, you may just be able to buy a much much better chair as the game approaching.
I sold my tickets. Now I am just waiting for the market to come down a bit and then I'll make my move. Word of advise when buying your red wing tickets: know who you dealing with. This morning i spotted at least 5 scammers on craigslist. They are out in full force today, for sure. Also, stay as far as you can from out of state brokers. They don't hold their own inventories, rather, they re-sell the stuff local brokers have in-hand. Plus there is not much you can do if an out of town guy stiffs you.
Also, avoid dealing with brokers who are not members of NATB (natb.org). Only NATB members are licensed and bonded. In Detroit I would recommend two of the brokers who always come through and listed with the Better Business Bureau of Michigan.
Big Time Worldwide in Southfield and Sell Tickets in Farmington (not sure of their website). Both are reputable, but Sell seems to have less inventory and slightly higher prices. Either of these brokers have been very good to us over the years. Stay away from the fly by night guys, God only knows, you will get shafted.
In addition. Be VERY VERY VERY careful with fleabay (Ebay). This is the time when scammers use the passwords to legitimate accounts (hence a ton of feedback) that they have stolen and post high priced tickets for sale. They take your money and you are left in the cold.
Good luck, Go Wings!
